The challenge
Northline’s dispatch team coordinated 1,200 vehicles using spreadsheets updated by phone. Idle time between deliveries was high, and dispatchers had no visibility into delays until a driver called in.
Our approach
We built a real-time tracking platform ingesting GPS telemetry from existing fleet hardware, streamed through Kafka into a live dispatch dashboard. Route optimization ran continuously in the background, automatically resequencing stops when delays were detected.
The result
Average vehicle idle time dropped by a third, missed pickup windows fell sharply, and dispatchers gained live visibility into the entire fleet for the first time.
